These crowns say “I am beautiful and yet quite dangerous - be warned.” The spikes denote the delicacy and translucence of the halo form as well as the warning and vigilance of physical armor. The spikes are indeed beautiful, but will do more than prick if approached in the wrong way. This potent combination is but a mere microcosm of the great Mother archetype. The divine feminine is gentle and surreal and supple and beautiful and also very, very severe, unyielding - at times unforgiving. These crowns are a humble attempt to capture these ineluctable contradictions. Each piece is anchored with a stone - a symbolism of the life and mortality offered by feminine reproduction and creation. While the forms are in fact floating, they remain tethered to the earthly realm.
